I am thrilled that you are here! Thanks for taking time to read a few thoughts that have encouraged others and made me think about things pertaining to life and godliness.

hurlbut-02JHMinistries began in 2010 as a means of assisting churches with musical worship team leadership and development.  Now, JHMinistries has grown into a 501c3 nonprofit ministry that supports the local established church, church plants, and nonprofits with teaching, preaching, leadership development, staff training, musical worship workshops and a host of other resources for growing organizational leaders.

Intensely missional in its focus, JHMinistries is planting a neighborhood home based fellowship in McKinney, TX, provides instruments to kids in need through its Kidstruments Gift Program, and has a long range plan to cultivate leadrs in Mendoza, Argentina by raising funds to purchase and build an organically sustainable finca with Bible school and church planting residency program for emeging national pastors.

In the journey of ministry, I have had the privilege of serving in various roles for 15 years in a variety of church and para-church contexts.  I have a B.A. in Communication Studies from The University of North Texas (‘02); Graduate Certificate in Youth Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary (‘06); and a Master of Theology (Th.M.) from Dallas Theological Seminary (’10).  I am also very passionate about teaching, training, preaching, small group ministry, and musical worship and work to develop fully functioning servants of Christ that can become leaders in these areas. While on staff with various churches and ministries, I have held such positions as Student Pastor, College Pastor, Worship Pastor, Guest Preacher/Teacher, and Overseas Missionary.  I am married to my college sweetheart, Amanda, and together we have a daughter named Adeleine.

At it’s core, JHMinistries believes in reproducing effective missional leaders by developing people who will serve others by investing in others for the glory of God.
